Klabin is the largest and most sustainable producer and exporter of packaging materials in Brazil.
The company has been around for more than 120 years and currently has 22 plants in Brazil and one in Argentina. In 2023, Klabin completed the second phase of the Puma II project, which included the construction of six pulp lines, a paper machine and a carton machine. The paperboard machine, the ‘PM28’, increases production capacity by an additional 460,000 tonnes of virgin fibre annually to 1.3 mln tonnes of kraft paperboard.
Klabin has a high standard in sustainability. They own 719,000 hectares of forest, 42% of which is protected native forest land and 356,000 hectares of responsible plantation land. More than 90% of the mills run on energy from renewable sources. They still bring down water consumption every year and are actively reducing CO2 emissions. Read more about Klabin on their website.
